Tunnel M&E Load is Large, Temperature Monitoring is Hard

Tunnel lighting, ventilation machines, fire pumps and other large power equipment operate for long periods. Cable joints and distribution box temperatures easily rise abnormally. Lacking continuous online temperature monitoring means, overheating hazards are hard to warn about early.

Outdoor Environment Causes Electrical Equipment Aging to Accelerate

Highway distribution facilities are mostly in outdoor environments, long-term withstanding high temperature, high humidity, lightning strikes and other harsh conditions. Electrical equipment insulation easily ages, and leakage and electrical fire hazards are significantly higher than indoor scenarios.

Network Topology

Sensing Layer: ESA Multi-Parameter Smart Meter deployed at along-route distribution room main distribution cabinets and tunnel substations, ESB Three-Phase Imbalance Monitor deployed at toll station and service area secondary distribution boxes and M&E equipment control cabinets, EST Multi-Channel Temperature Controller attached to tunnel cable joints/busbars/breaker contacts and other key hot spots, ESX Intelligent Edge Computing Gateway deployed at tunnel M&E control boxes, covering lighting, ventilation, fire pumps and other circuits.

Network Layer: Each sensing terminal connects via RS485 bus (Modbus-RTU protocol) to nearby ESX Intelligent Edge Computing Gateway. ESX Gateway uploads via highway power grid optical fiber/4G cellular network uplink to road section monitoring center grid network. Key nodes support dual-link redundant backup to ensure data transmission reliability.

Platform Layer: Data aggregates to FEXLINK Cloud Platform (private deployment), providing web & mobile visualization dashboard, real-time alarm, history trend analysis, O&M work order dispatch, compliance report auto generation, multi-role permission management and other functions.

Integration Layer: Cloud platform through standard REST API / Modbus TCP protocol, integrates with highway existing SCADA, monitoring center, M&E O&M management system, achieving data sharing and linked alarms, unified into O&M work order process.
